SYRIAB - زرياب + Nerly BigBand: Ya Tair ya tayer يا طير يا طاير / Wen a Ramallah وين ع رام الله

Ya Tair ya tayer/ Wen a Ramallah - يا طير يا طاير/ وين ع رام الله #erfurt #Kultur #achava_festspiele #زرياب Arrangement: Robert Fränzel Live recording: adapoe Event- und Studiotechnik Mix: Gören Eggert Video Recording and editing: Anton Tal CD graphic design: Ole Bechert recorded live @ Zughafen Erfurt, September 2020 2020 was a challenging year for cultural events and those involved in them. In september 2020 the Nerly BigBand and SYRIAB performed together during a brief pause between lockdowns, making the concert a very special one. Although at this time meetings were a rarity, both bands managed to get together and despite everything wrote musical arrangements for the project to make this interaction of two very different ensembles possible. The whole concert is available on the CD "Habibi - حبيبي", infos on www.syriab.de and info@syriab.de. The Nerly BigBand, which has been a fixed institution in the cultural life of Erfurt since 2008, regularily plays with guests from different countries. SYRIAB often cooperates with classical line-ups such as symphony orchestra or string trio. With the co-operation of the two ensembles, worlds met bringing their differences and their similarities to the stage in this programme. As in jazz, improvisation is of great importance in Middle Eastern music. Improvisations by the musicians of SYRIAB are deliberately juxtaposed with the jazz of the Nerly BigBand.
